The year 8 girl’s netball team at Clacton Coastal Academy are continuing their sporting success this  year. They recently took part in and won an AET tournament, playing against Felixstowe Academy, Maltings Academy and Tendring Technology College.

It was a difficult tournament but the CCA girls played really well. The first match was against Felixstowe. It was a tough match with Paige Knight being injured and having to be taken out the game but the girls fought on and played well. They won 4-3.

Having won their first match, the team was in high spirits going in to the second. Kayleigh Saunders scored 3 goals and Becky McDougall went on to score 2 more so by half time it was 5-0. After a great team talk, Becky scored straight away and then again! With 5 minutes left Kayleigh scored one more goal making the final score an amazing 8-0 to CCA.

The last match was against TTC, the hardest game out of the whole tournament. The team were ready and excited to get going but unfortunately when the whistle went, the first goal went to Tendring. When the half time whistle blew it was 6-5 to Tendring. The second half was very tough as the ball went back and forth. It was a nail biting match, however with much determination the finished score was 7-8 to CCA.

Final victory went to CCA!
