Clacton Coastal Academy are celebrating the success of their A Level and BTEC students today, with results highlighting real year on year improvement in the attainment of the highest grades, particularly for those studying BTEC National Diploma where nearly two thirds (63%) of the students studying courses achieved Distinction*/Distinction grades, and all students passing their chosen courses. Many students showed their talents though the intellectually challenging extended project qualification where amongst the 5 A Grades, 2 were awarded A*.A* - B grades were also found in Sociology, Psychology, Photography and Politics as well as in the Science subjects which really highlight the depth and breadth of skills and knowledge our students acquire during the Academic Year. There has been significant focus within the Academy to ensure students are well placed to go on to their next stage in their life and we are delighted that over half of the students, our highest ever figure, are going on to University.
Principal Tracey Hemming said: “The drive for improvement and academic success at CCA is continuous and is reflected in these results. The VIth form students have benefited greatly from an outstanding new VIth Form Centre on the Pathfields Road site and by the move to one site. Their influence and maturity has also added to the purposeful ethos of the Academy and as role models, they are excellent examples for the younger students. There are many well deserved successes to celebrate today and many students well prepared for the next part of their educational journey. I, the governors and the staff at CCA couldn’t be more pleased for them.”
