On Thursday 4th February 2016, Clacton Coastal Academy hosted a Working Party that included engagement from cross-sector businesses and educational providers.

The purpose of the event was to look at how Clacton Coastal Academy could work collaboratively with businesses and educational providers in order to create a programme for 16-19 year olds that combines both school based study and work based experience.

The Clacton Coastal Academy vision is that the CCA way leads to successful employment. This type of study programme will build employability skills and ensure students have a much greater experience and understanding of the work place.

As a leading example of this style of study, hospitality students served a superb two course luncheon in the developing Clacton Coastal Academy restaurant.

Organisations such as BUPA, KPMG, Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, Catten College, Vocational Training

Services, Class of Your Own, GAPs Training were among the many that attended and engaged in discussions.

Head of Academy, Mrs Neill said “This has been a very productive event, developing plans for our new programmes in September. This is a very exciting development for us as an Academy and we are very grateful to all those involved for the time and commitments they have given.”
