Dear CCA Community

This week we have been putting plans together for an exciting end of term for all students. We will be having an activities week, which will cover a range of interesting and useful activities for all year groups.

You will be receiving more information about this from the year teams, but needless to say it will be an enriching and fun experience for all students, including our first Sports Day as CCA.

This newsletter also carries the story of one of our very talented year 7 students, Saffron Heffer. You may have seen her story in the Gazette.

She has been selected by the BBC’s Blue Peter, to cover the Anniversary of the Queen’s Coronation. I watched the episode of Blue Peter, screened last Thursday, with great pride as I know her mother, CCA English Teacher Mrs Heffer did too! It know it has been hard for Saffron to keep the secret of her opportunity and I think that she is now very relieved that she can talk about it. Well done Saffie!

Other talented students are busy preparing to take part in our version of “Fame”, which will be showing on the 4th July.

There are two performances on this evening one at 5:30 and the next at 7:30, we look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible.

I hear very good things about the level of performance. I’d also like to thank year 7 students and their parents who came along to our Year 7 Curriculum evening last week. The hall was full to bursting with keen students and happy parents. We will be developing this idea in the future for more year groups, with the intention of having each student presenting their work.

I hope you all have a good weekend and that the sun eventually starts to shine.

Kind regards
Tracey Hemming
