Welcome back to another year at Clacton Coastal Academy. I hope that you have enjoyed the summer break and have recharged your batteries.
You may have seen in the local press that we have been celebrating significant exam success over the summer holidays.
We have now reached a record figure of 45% 5 A* - C GCSE grades with English and Maths (an increase of 9% on last year). Results continue to be above national levels for students achieving 5 A* to C GCSE grades or equivalent, which is an outstanding achievement.
Our Sixth Form also celebrated some outstanding results this year with 26% of A levels taken awarded an A*, A or B. This, combined with BTEC equivalents, means that 66% of L3 results for CCA were A*-B. This represents a massive increase from an eventual 37% after appeals last year and we are highly delighted. Also 100% of students gained at least one A*-E grade or equivalent.
This set of results show that we are continuing to make excellent progress across the board, as well as in English and Maths. The students and staff here have worked fantastically hard to secure these grades, including workshops run on Sundays and in the holidays.
The determination shown by everyone involved has been outstanding and the success is thoroughly deserved.
We could not be more proud of our students, our staff and everyone who supports CCA, from our Sponsor AET to every parent who supports their child with their studies and their motivation.
We have another exceptionally busy year planned for all students at CCA, with ample opportunity for our students to achieve and ‘make their best better’!
Very kind regards
