B4L Champions!

B4L Champions were nominated by their year teams to attend a workshop about Positive Behaviour for Learning at CCA on Wednesday 2nd October. 61 students attended

this and are all signed up and equipped to provide positive B4L role modelling and support in their lessons. During the workshop students learnt and shared ideas about our

DWD ethos and positive B4L techniques and tips, which will provide support to other students and staff. They can be identified by their white rectangle B4L Champion

badge, which they are very proud of! Students will meet regularly throughout the year to gain further tips and strategies on positive B4L. If you would like to become a B4L

Champion please see Mrs Campbell.

Open Evening Success!

On Thursday 3rd October, CCA hosted an open evening for prospective students. Students and parents had the opportunity to tour the school, speak to staff and students

and then sample some delicious food by our fantastic hospitality team. There was something going on around every corner, including an Alice in Wonderland themed tea

party! Principal, Tracey Hemming said: “The atmosphere around the academy was one of confidence and self-belief. Parents that had been to several open evenings

commented that this was “the best open evening by miles”, “what lovely staff you have” and “this is the school for my son, I have made my mind up!” We look forward to

next years Open Evening and seeing what the departments can come up with! Well done to all the staff and students who were involved.
