From Infinity to Beyond!

A big shout out to the Year 11 physicists that have been applying themselves with real determination at their i-Achieve Infinity Master Class. The GCSE results of the first cohort were exceptional and it is clear that those now studying at the Infinity Physics Academy are already making real progress. Combining practical workshops with theoretical sessions in a small group setting has enabled students to develop a very real understanding of their subject. To the left is a photo of the students in action tackling Snell’s Law focusing on the relationship between the angles of incidence and refraction. Keep up the excellent attitude. Your hard work will pay dividends - Mr Hodge.

National Careers Week

As part of National Careers Week, we welcomed guests from the world of work to CCA on Tuesday to speak to our year 11 students about their potential pathways for the future. Careers in the NHS, the police, music, law, to name but a few, were all represented following a whole year group careers survey to find out exactly what year 11 students want to do with their futures.

The positive comments I received from all our visitors was over-whelming, with many commenting on how polite and attentive students were. Some of our guests have even asked when they can come in again – very impressive indeed!

I would like to thank everyone who was involved in the day, especially the year 11 students who embraced this opportunity with so much enthusiasm – don’t forget to write this experience up in your Employability for Life portfolio!
