Friday evening saw the Regional Finals of the Jack Petchey Speak Out Competition take place at Philip Morant School in Colchester. Kayleigh Rowland in Year 10 was chosen to represent CCA and she had been rehearsing everyday after school for weeks.

Kayleigh was the last to deliver her speech entitled ‘The Penguin Party’ and so had to watch all of her competitors take to the stage before her and as the saying goes, they definitely saved the best for last!

We were all so proud of Kayleigh’s speech. Her delivery was fantastic and she had the audience in tears of joy and laughter simultaneously.

Unfortunately, Kayleigh did not win the competition but she really couldn't have tried any harder. She was an absolute credit to the Academy and to herself.

Well done Kayleigh!
