What’s going on @ CCA?

Here at CCA the safety of the children whilst travelling to and from the academy is as important as when they are in the academy. At CCA we are very aware that a significant number of students cycle here.

Before Christmas a project linked to Essex County Council called Bikeability took place. Bikeability is all about linking cycling with safety so therefore knowing the road, knowing how to be safe on the roads and what to look out for when on the road.

The sessions took place after school on the streets around the academy, the children who took part in the initiative were:

Katie Vass, Ashley Vass, Kabia Green, Jasmin Fox, Bradley Hutchinson and Aimee Thurgood. The year 7s who took part in the project were fantastic ambassadors and a credit to the academy. Well done!

All received a certificate, a bikeability badge to wear on their blazers and with the kind support of Cycle Mart in Clacton, a voucher for £20 towards a purchase of cycling equipment.

Bikeability will be running again after February half term so please watch this space for more information.
