What’s happening at CCA?

My two year 9 textile groups have been working very hard on a special memorial piece to mark the centenary of WW1. It is a special wall hanging to remember those who fought so bravely for us.

They have been working on it for approximately 7 weeks and worked as a team to produce it, each having set jobs and practicing new techniques they have been taught. A special mention must go to Cheryl Barnes for her help, we could not have done it with out her.

The Creative Writing AS Level is new to CCA this year and it is safe to say that both myself and Mrs Fry are incredibly proud of the work ethic and writing skills of our year 12 students.

Last half term, our students shared their final assessments with each other and voted in the style of The Great British Bake Off for the best technical challenge, showstopper and star baker via Google Classroom.

Rachel Woods, Laura O'Callaghan and Kayleigh Thurbon shared the honours, winning lavish praise from their class-mates for their mature and highly original writing styles.

I have high hopes for this group of students - perhaps we should think about publishing a collection of your short stories? Watch this space!
