Year 7 Thank you

You will be pleased to see that this is a short piece from me for the newsletter. As we approach the final half term I just wanted to, yet again, pay tribute to the year 7's with their works, achievement, behaviour and the general positive attitude I see around the academy.

This half term has been a little bit strange because as decisions are being made for year 8 a realisation is reached that time is limited in year 7. Where on earth has 32 weeks gone?!

I must take this opportunity to thank the tutors, you the parents and of course Mrs West and Miss McClusky. Without the support of all mentioned above the job of head of year would be a whole lot harder.

Have a great half term and stay safe.

Year 8 CCA Passport

Year 8,

Well this is why I love my job. This week I have been able to celebrate with so many year 8's the amazing contributions that you have made to the year group. We have had Cake Friday with all the students who have received 100% Attendance or no negatives this term. Not only that I want to thank the amazing year 8 peer mentors who have worked so hard throughout the year and have run some amazing schemes. The year team are very much looking forward to congratulating them with their reward. We have also had the first students in the academy who have already reached a pass on the CCA passport, well done to Riley Foreman, Lucy Sage and Chelsi Morris. This term we will also be re-launching the Oscars; the student choice awards! One last thing - a big thank you to all the year 8 stu-dents who supported the CCA football match and braved the elements.

Students of the week

“In Drama a few weeks ago, Jason O'Neill and Jake Johnson really stepped up their game and performed an excellent duo-logue (although not with each other.) They were 100% focused, showed fantastic acting skills and I saw a massive improvement in their attitude to learning. They were a real credit to them-selves.” - Mrs Beacham, Drama. Well done, 100 Achievement Director Vivos (EACH!)
