Year 7 Positive Points

I thought I would start with a proverb: “Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference”. In assembly I always have a few proverbs to refer to which we in year 7 believe are appropriate. I’ve been saying for most of this term that having the right attitude links with being motivated and linked with those is enthusiasm. Year 7 continue to show these 3 in abundance so well done!

I thought I would share with you the stats on year 7. An ocean of commendations and positive marks is what I said in assembly, its great to see and it shows that year 7 are making an excellent attempt at life here at CCA. Above is the table. As you can see its excellent stuff so well done to you all. Have a good week and keep on keeping on! Mr A Davenport

Year 8 8PIC 8IGHT!

Ski Trip - This week, Miss Bush launched an exciting trip to the Hemel Hempstead Ski Slopes for a two hour skiing lesson! Should you want additional information; letters will be up in the Year Office or alternatively, see Miss Bush.

Sport Relief - This Friday, students will have the opportunity to partake in the Sport Relief event organised by the PE department. Students will have the chance to walk, jog or run a mile in aid of Sport Relief – all you need to do is donate 50p to take part – let’s have an 8PIC turnout and do our bit for charity!

Assessment Week – Students have been working hard towards their assessments this week. This will be one of their final assessments towards their milestone two across the curriculum. I’m really looking forward to seeing how the Year group have progressed over the last term – god luck Year Eight!

Accelerated Reading – I was absolutely delighted to hear that 8C3 have reached Model and Master class, 8O2 have reached Model class. This is a wonderful achievement! Well done to both classes – we will be celebrating this in next week’s assembly.

Year 9 Options

This week, some year 9 students have been busy preparing for their COYO presentation in London at the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. Good luck to them all, more information to follow next week.

I would like to remind you that your option decisions must be made by the end of this week. If you have any questions or concerns you can always speak to a member of the year team.

I’m going to leave you with some pictures of what year 9 have been up to recently.

Year 10 Work Experience

It has been a week of celebrations this week in year 10. 10SBL took the attendance crown for 100% attendance last week and none of their peers were late. It was also lovely to welcome Ms Hemming to assembly to present Mitchell Thorpe with a Principal's award for his outstanding karate achievement.

We also welcomed Miss Leatherby, who spoke to the students about work experience. This will take place for every year 10 student in the last week of the Summer term. Students will soon be receiving letters and forms to be able to choose their placements. Students will be allowed to source their own placements and I am sure that you will agree that this is a fantastic opportunity for them to be able to ensure that the experience is the most valuable possible.

Please look out for further notices about this as the forms will need to be completed and back with us in the middle of April.

There were huge amounts of celebration announcements this week from members of staff who have been utterly thrilled with the efforts and dedication of year 10 students in so many subject areas and this always an absolute joy for the year team to be able to celebrate.

We look forward to celebrating many more of these over the coming weeks.
